PepsiCo has recalled selected packs of Doritos Chilli Heatwave, which may contain Doritos Tangy Cheese tortilla chips.
As the recipe for Doritos Tangy Cheese contains milk, impacted packs pose a risk for shoppers with a milk allergy. This is because Doritos Chilli Heatwave packs do not contain milk and do not list it as an allergen on pack.
The recall affects 140g and 180g packs with the batch code GBC 209 184C and a best before date of 5 December 2026.
Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores selling the affected product, explaining to shoppers why the product is being recalled and what to do if they have bought it.
Shoppers should not eat the product and should instead return it to where they bought it from for a full refund, the FSA advised.
A spokesperson for PepsiCo said: “The quality and safety of our products is of paramount importance to us, and we sincerely apologise for the error.
“We are working with the Food Standards Agency, impacted retailers and allergen groups to inform consumers.”
The recall comes after Ferrero UK pulled selected batches of its frozen Nutella Croissant bakery products from shelves last month amid concerns they may contain pieces of metal.
