Bahlsen has announced a seven-month sponsorship deal with Comedy on Sky1. A series of five and 15-second idents for Bahlsen’s Pick Up! biscuits will bookend adverts during the news series of shows Mount Pleasant, Trollied, After Hours and Stella. Bahlsen said it expected the campaign to reach eight million viewers, who will see the idents an average of 20 times each.
C&C Group is expanding its Chaplin & Cork’s range of premium ciders with the launch of Somerset Vintage, which will be listed in Tesco from next month. An 8.2% abv medium dry cider, it joins the brand’s Somerset Reserve and Somerset Gold, which are listed in Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose.
Square Pie is launching a pie named after ex-England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio’s charity. The Dallaglio Foundation Steak & Ale pie will be available from Ocado and selected Tesco and The Co-op Group stores in London from the end of this month (rsp: £3.49). For each pie sold 10p will be donated.
Maxxium UK is relaunching Grouse variant The Black Grouse as The Famous Grouse Smokey Black (rsp: £20.07). Maxxium said the move was intended to offer a consistent look and feel across the brand’s portfolio and capitalise on the growth in premium blended whisky.

Carlsberg is opening its first London pop-up bar for Belgian abbey beer Grimbergen. The bar will open from six to 11pm on Thursday and Friday (24 and 25 September) in The Vaults underneath Waterloo station. The venue will be fashioned in the style of Grimbergen Abbey, where the beer was first produced, and live music will be performed by vintage band The Retrosettes and rock ‘n’ roll group High Jives.

The black cookies, a humorous take on the fortune cookies popular in Chinese restaurants, contain insulting and pessimistic quips and predictions.
