Gü has recalled a batch of desserts that have been mispacked with cheesecakes containing hazelnuts.
Blonde Chocolate Cheesecake packs with the use by date of 12 March 2026 and batch code 226044 have been mispacked with Hazelnut Praline Zillionaire cheesecakes, but hazelnuts are not mentioned on the label.
As such, they pose a food safety risk to people with an allergy to nuts.
In a point-of-sale notice, Gü has urged shoppers not to eat the product if they have a nut allergy. Instead, they should return it to store for a full refund. No receipt is required.
For more information, shoppers should email recall@gupuds.com.
The FSA has advised Gü to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will inform members about the recall.
It comes after Nestlé and Danone recalled a swathe of infant formula products at the start of the year over fears they contained the toxin cereulide.
The recalls by both companies were connected to an arachidonic acid oil manufactured in China. Both Nestlé and Danone have confirmed they are no longer using ingredients from the affected supplier.
In February, the UK Health Security Agency said it had been made aware of 36 cases of children developing symptoms consistent with cereulide toxin poisoning across the UK, after consuming baby formula from the affected batches.
Both Nestlé and Danone maintain no causal link has been established between their recalled products and cases of illness in babies.
