Iceland Foods is set to expanded its partnership with Alliance, through the opening of its latest Channel Islands store.
The new Iceland branded store, located on The Crusher Site in Alderney, marks the supermarket’s first on the island, following the launch of the franchise partnership with Alliance in November 2024. It is set to open on 6 October, with the creation of 10 jobs.
It will stock a range of Iceland’s frozen and fresh groceries, including the “most popular” SKUs from its exclusive brand partnerships with the likes of Harry Ramsden’s, Cathedral City and TGI Fridays.
“The opening of our first store in Alderney is an exciting milestone for Iceland and demonstrates our commitment to bringing our popular product range and great value to more communities across the Channel Islands,” said Justin Addison, Iceland Foods international and partnerships director.
“Working alongside our trusted partner Alliance, we’re delighted to create new jobs locally and offer Alderney residents access to the products and brands our customers know and love.”
Iceland launched its supply partnership with Alliance to supply stores in the dependency in November 2024, following the sale of 38 stores to Morrisons by former supply partner Sandpiper.
The supermarket hailed the switch as “new era” and aims to eventually open 10 stores on across the island chain. It includes the first Food Warehouse store on the islands, which opened in January 2025.
“We’re very pleased to be working with Iceland Foods to open a new store in Alderney,” said Keiran Poole, Alliance operations director.
“Together, we’re making it easier than ever for households across the Channel Islands to access Iceland’s fantastic range, from exclusive brands and everyday essentials to the great value and choice the brand is known for.
“This opening represents a significant milestone for Alliance. It is much more than simply opening another store – it marks an important step in strengthening our roots across the Channel Islands by establishing a presence in another jurisdiction, while creating new employment opportunities and investing in the local economy,” he said.
Iceland is the latest major British grocer to partner with Alliance, which has had a supply agreement with Waitrose since 2021.
