The new managing director of John West Foods has been named following the departure of his predecessor.
Ben Ford has been appointed MD, according to a Thai Union spokesperson, after Mark Doherty left the business of “his own accord”.
Ford took over the position on 2 February, the business confirmed.
“Ben will lead the next phase of John West’s growth plans, building on the strong momentum of pioneering innovation Ecotwist and a robust new product pipeline,” a Thai Union spokesperson said. “John West remains fully focused on delivering healthy and natural protein, so consumers can ‘Eat Strong. Go Strong’.”
Doherty had been with John West for close to two decades, with a career in the grocery sector that has stretched to nearly three decades. He was most recently appointed John West’s MD in March 2024, having been promoted from the position of commercial director.
Prior to joining Thai Union Group-owned John West, Doherty worked with several companies including Northern Foods, Nestlé and Anheuser-Busch.
