Lipton Teas and Infusions has appointed its third chief executive in little over a year.
The PG Tips and Pukka Herbs owner has announced Marc Busain is to become its new CEO, effective 1 October.
He replaces Pierre Laubies, who was appointed LT&I CEO permanently in April, having held the role on an interim basis since the exit of Nathalie Roos last September. Following Busain’s arrival, Laubies would return to LT&I’s supervisory board, the company said.
Busain has spent most of his career with Dutch brewer Heineken, originally joining its finance team in 1995.
After stints heading up its operations in Egypt, France and Mexico, he joined its global executive team and became president of its ‘Americas’ reporting region in 2015.
“Marc has tremendous global experience in the consumer packaged goods sector and a track record of consistently delivering growth,” said Jean-Rémy Roussel, the chair of LT&I’s supervisory board. “With his strong commercial acumen and leadership, I have every confidence that the world’s leading tea business is in good hands.”
Busain added: “It is a tremendous pleasure to join a company with responsibility for such a collection of storied and much-loved brands.
“Tea, in all its varied forms, is an exciting growth category and I look forward to working with the talented team at Lipton Teas and Infusions to ensure there’s a tea for everyone.”
