It carries 0% foreign transaction fees and a six-month 0% interest period on purchases

The Post Office has launched a new travel credit card as it seeks to bolster its financial services.

Key features include 0% foreign transaction fees, meaning there are no extra charges when consumers spend overseas or buy from international retailers, and a six-month 0% interest period on purchases.

Customers will not be charged a handling fee to purchase foreign currency in a Post Office when they use the credit card. There are also no annual fees.

The new product carries a representative APR of 34.9% (variable).

The launch is intended to drive footfall into branches and travel money sales for postmasters. It has already been rolled out to stores.

It forms part of the Post Office’s wider transformation programme, which focuses on diversifying revenue streams and supporting postmasters through increased financial services income.

The travel credit card also marks the Post Office’s first new financial services product launch in 2026, with further banking and financial products expected later this year.

In 2025, the Post Office announced it had re-entered the personal loans market via a new partnership with Lendable.

“We’re thrilled to launch our new travel credit card, packed with benefits we know customers really value,” said Post Office head of financial services Sean Morley.

“With features like no foreign transaction fees and no cash advance fees on travel money bought from Post Office, it truly stands out in a competitive market.

“By expanding our range of financial services, we’re not only helping customers get more from their money but also generating income that supports postmasters and communities across the UK. This is just the start and we’re excited about what’s to come.”
