
Supreme has picked up dieting brand Slimfast for £20m in a bid to tap the boom in weight loss jabs.
Slimfast is “ideally placed to capitalise on the growing demand for GLP-1 products”, which require nutrition and protein supplements both during treatment and as an ideal ‘follow-on’, said Supreme.
The weight management market is projected to reach £1.5bn by 2027, according to Grand View Research.
Best known for its vaping, batteries, and lighting products, London-listed Supreme has pursued a varied diversification strategy over the past two years – buying Typhoo and Clearly Drinks in 2024, and 1001 carpet cleaner in August 2025.
In the latest deal, Supreme will take on trade and selected assets of Slimfast UK and Europe from Irish multinational Glanbia.
The acquisition is expected to immediately enhance Supreme’s profits. Slimfast generated £25.5m in revenues in the year to 31 December 2024, and made £9.7m in adjusted gross profit.
Supreme said there was also an opportunity to expand Slimfast internationally.
“We are excited to have acquired such an iconic brand in Slimfast, which we believe is highly complementary to our existing drinks and wellness category,” added Supreme CEO Sandy Chadha.
“Under our ownership and track record for product innovation, we believe the commercial opportunities to both enhance and broaden Slimfast’s market presence make it an ideal addition to our business.”
Supreme said it expected “meaningful synergies” from integrating Slimfast into its in-house distribution platform.
The group plans to take the manufacture of all the brand’s powder products, worth around 40% of turnover, in-house.
Supreme already serves a number of key Slimfast customers, and has identified opportunities to upsell to clients across the 55,000 retail sites it currently supplies.
The acquisition has likewise brought in new retail customers, with Boots and Superdrug now opened up to cross-selling opportunities. Supreme already supplies Amazon, Home Bargains, B&M, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Morrisons.
