The Kids Food Company is expanding its UK team as it eyes further growth at home and abroad.

The Amersham company, which owns toddler brand Kiddylicious, is moving to new premises and recruiting for five new roles - including financial controller, NAM and NPD project manager - to support its ambitious growth plans.

It is ramping up innovation in the UK, with three new ranges planned this year, and expanding its supplier base. It will also introduce new shift patterns at its UK packers to increase efficiency. “We will use the UK innovation to drive export sales,” said commercial director Neil Mathers.

The company saw 55% year-on-year growth during 2013, he said, with UK turnover reaching £4m, and plans to double this over the next year.

Kiddylicious launched in the US in September, and in Tesco’s South Korean subsidiary Homeplus and Carrefour in Spain in mid-January. Its products are also sold in Dubai and Hong Kong, and it is planning to roll out into China in May, followed by Australia and South Africa.

Mathers said Asia viewed UK baby and toddler snack brands as premium and trustworthy.
