Walkers reveals its three mystery flavours
Walkers has unveiled the identity of the three mystery flavours it launched in January.
The push, dubbed What’s That Flavour, offered consumers the chance to win a £50,000 prize if they correctly identified one of three new flavours simply labelled as A, B and C.
Walkers has now confirmed the three £50,000 prizes were claimed.
The three flavours were Sour Cream & Spring Onion; Lincolnshire Sausage & Brown Sauce; and Birmingham Chicken Balti. Each will now go on sale for a limited period in named packs.
In a single seven-day period of the campaign, sales of multipacks containing the mystery flavours secured a 13% share of the six-pack bagged snacks market category [Nielsen w/c 25 February 2012]. Over the course of the promotion, 793,011 attempts were made to guess the flavours.
“The campaign has captured the nation’s imagination, as shown by the sheer number and variety of guesses we received,” said Walkers marketing director Miranda Sambles.

I did say chicken balti but how do you get to the Birmingham bit. Walkers obviously did not look at all the answers, as I know two people who said sour cream and spring onion. But they were not from our area.
Great for those that one though and we had fun trying to guess.

Do you people think that you were the only ones to guess the right answer? Did you really expect walkers to pay everyone that got the answer right! It was obvious from the start that all winning entries would go into a draw to be won!!

I tried A and C and guessed Sour Cream and Chive & Chicken Curry for C.
I was hungry, so I just dug in the cupboard and found my 6 pack, so I thought I would try B and I initially thought that it was cumberland sausage, but as there wasn't the distinctive black pepper bite, I figured it was Lincolnshire sausage, but I thought it was Lincolnshire sausage and tomato ketchup.
The problem is that I have my sausages with brown and red sauce normally, so I didn't distinguish between the two, but I agree with the comment above, it was great fun to test my taste buds. I always laugh at the chefs on Hell's Kitchen when they get it wrong, but I was so close to all 3!
