Germany: Curry Wurst Energy Drink

Ever wished your energy drink had a hint of sparkling sausage? Your dreams are now a reality thanks to Cue’s curry sausage flavoured energy drink. Packed with caffeine, the product contains four added vitamins and retails in a 250ml can at €1.54/£1.11.

USA: Arty Artichoke Water

Coconut water is so last year. Now it’s all about Artichoke Water. Arty claims it’s the world’s first premium, plant-based beverage made from fresh California artichokes. Those artichokes come at a price though – it retails at $10.88 (£7.37) for a 4x8oz pack.

Canada: Bob The Brain

Bob The Brain claims to enhance intellectual performance and alertness for better concentration. Described as a wellness product, the drink (CAD2.99/£1.44) features an “exhilarating taste” of bountiful berry fruits and is made with premium kola and nut and ginseng.

Spain: Tomato Flavoured Tonic Water

Crack out the vodka and dry gin! Lidl claims its new tomato flavoured tonic water (€2.49/£1.79 for six 20cl bottles) is the perfect mixer for them. It “features a fruity scent with green notes” and was developed by the two Michelin stars awarded chef Sergi Arola.

USA: Stoli Spicy Cinnamon Ginger Beer

Despite looking like a can of lager, Stoli’s limited edition Spicy Cinnamon Ginger Beer packs a punch of the non-alcoholic kind. In fact, it is marketed as a premium mixer with a price tag to match ($5.88/£3.98 for a four pack).

Australia: Apple, Cucumber & Kiwi Soda

“We’ve changed soft drinks for good,” shouts Nudie. Its range of Nudie & Soda drinks (AUD11.99/£6.89) are made with 50% real fruit and less than 2.5% of sugar per can. Variants include an apple, cucumber & kiwi and orange, mango & passion fruit.

Japan: Pepsi Pink Cola

Japan is certainly the place to find unusual coloured food – black cheeseburgers and green Kit Kats, for example. Now, courtesy of Pepsi, cola is available in pink. The strawberry milk flavoured drink retails at JPY151 (£0.48) for 490ml.

Germany: Beauty Natural Water

This plum and kombucha flavoured mineral water (€1.25/£0.90) plays to health-conscious consumers’ needs. It’s free from sweeteners and colourings and is enriched with vitamins, according to Thüringer Waldquell Wellness. It contains aromatic apple vinegar and fermented herbal tea.

Czech Republic: Hemp & Green Tea Ice Tea

Cannabis ice tea! Okay, not quite – it’s made from hemp but given the design on the bottle you’d be forgiven for thinking it had different properties. This unusual ice tea (CZK39:00/£0.94) is free from added sugar, colours and preservatives.

New Zealand: Pear and Basil Soda

Tapping into Kiwis love of fruity ciders, this creation combines basil and hops extracts with pear juice – without the sugar or alcohol, according to Höpt. The “crisp and refreshing” soda retails at NZD6.00/£2.52 for a 4 x 330ml pack.

Brazil: Apple and Cinnamon Wholegrain Cake Mix

Dr Oetker’s wholesome wholegrain mug cake (BRL2.49/£0.55) takes baking to the next level in terms of convenience. It’s ready in one minute and 10 seconds, and contains granola and pieces of banana.

USA: Hershey’s Caramel Hot Fudge Cake Mix

Good old Betty! Mrs Crocker sure knows how to get taste buds tingling, with the launch of the triple layer caramel hot fudge cake mix ($5.98/£4.06) under the Hershey's brand. All it needs is water and can go from box to oven in five minutes.

Australia: Cacoa and Chia Protein Ball Mix

Bringing healthiness to home baking, I Quit Sugar’s offering (AUD 6.35/£3.66) is said to be a delicious and healthy muesli ball mix blended with nutrient-dense super foods that is free from fructose and added sugar. Best of all, it still tastes chocolatey!

Sweden: Bio Molecular Cooking Kit

Calling all mini Heston Blumenthals! Cookit has created a bio molecular cooking kit especially for budding food scientists. It contains four sachets of organic agar, a syringe, a spaghetti tube and a pipette, and is organically certified.

Inodonsia: Traditional Cupcake Mix

The English might find the idea of putting cassava or tapioca in their cupcakes rather odd, luckily the Indonesians don’t. The mix (IDR 15325/£0.69) requires the addition of 200g of it plus 400cc of water to make 30 medium pink cupcakes.

France: Chocolate and Hazelnut Mug Cake Mix

Cake in a mug – simple. It can be prepared in two minutes with the addition of 40g of butter and one egg. A mug is included in the retail price of €12.90 (£9.33), so you don’t even have to wash up first.

USA: Pink Camouflage Mix

It may be called a camouflage cake, but this thing can be spotted a mile away. The pattern is created by splitting the mixture and dying it varying degrees of pink. It retails at $2.98 (£2.02).

Germany: Protein Pancake Mix

Body Attack Sports Nutrition’s pancake protein mix taps into the increasing trend of protein-enhanced products, for that pre and post-gym fix. It contains 36g of high quality protein sources and is sweetened with stevia. It can also be used to prepare waffles and retails at (€11.31/£8.19).

Australia: Quick Scone Mix

Simply Honest’s ultra-premium scone mix (AUD 6.97/£3.97) is for those who want to bask in real heritage (a Scottish one, if the box is anything to go by). It makes scones in minutes from simple ingredients, free from preservatives. Better put the kettle on then.

Create a masterpiece then devour it. This kit (PLN 29.90/£4.86) comes with cocoa and white icing which can be shaped and decorated before it is placed on the cake, allowing for a unique creation every time.
