BrewDog is courting more controversy with the launch of its strongest – and weirdest – beer yet.

The “intentionally shocking” End of History is 55% abv and will retail at £500 for a single 330ml bottle.

Even more eye-catching than the price tag are the bottles themselves, which are contained within stuffed animals such as squirrels.

BrewDog claimed the sky-high alcohol content would help “cure the binge drinking culture, not fuel it”.

The Aberdeen brewer has previously hit the headlines with a string of provocative product launches.

The 35% abv Tactical Nuclear Penguin was debuted in November, while last year also saw the launch of a low-alcohol brew named Nanny State that was just 1.1% abv.

And its 18% abv beer Tokyo* was blacklisted by the Portman Group for supposedly promoting excessive drinking.
