Another example of inflation-related gain, McVitie’s average prices are up by 1.5%
Last year’s ranking: 11
Sales: £467.0m (+0.9%)
Another example of inflation-related gain, McVitie’s average prices are up by 1.5%. So in spite of volumes falling by 0.5%, an extra £4.3m went through the tills. That’s not to say McVitie’s is sitting back. Last year saw the end of the Sweeet marketing push featuring cuddly baby animals, replaced this spring by the £9.7m Sweeter Together campaign. Digestive Thins also secured retail sales of £17m in their launch year, while spawning a slew of copycat products.
