It last partnered with FareShare over Christmas

One Stop has teamed up with FareShare again this summer in a bid to provide food to vulnerable families over the holidays.

The Tesco-owned convenience retailer has launched a summer holiday activity book that is available to purchase for £1, whereby all profits will go towards helping FareShare provide food to struggling families.

It is also donating 2p to FareShare from every individual and multipack of fresh fruit & vegetables sold, helping to increase fundraising and provide food to people going hungry across the UK.

Both promotions are running until 2 September.

“We’re fully behind the work of FareShare,” said One Stop head of transformation Neil Thomas. ”Through our large network of stores we see first-hand how some people in our communities need additional support.

“The reliance on charities such as FareShare is particularly sad to see in today’s society and is further exacerbated during the cost of living crisis.

“Throughout One Stop all our colleagues play an important role in maintaining and expanding the ongoing and great relationship we have with FareShare. We’re able to work together on a national level consolidating our efforts into this and other campaigns, as we raise additional funds and also seek to drive awareness of the charity’s work.”

One Stop had previously worked with FareShare last Christmas with an £80,000 donation that supported vulnerable families over the festive holiday and February half-term this year.

FareShare works by providing charities and community groups with direct access to surplus food from local supermarkets and convenience stores.
