Walkers is adding a duo of non-HFSS flavours to its Max Strong range.

Fiery Prawn Cocktail and Hot Sauce Blaze will roll into Tesco on 27 June, with a wider rollout planned for 1 August (rsp: £1.50-£1.75/50g-6x27g)

They catered to the demand for “exciting new flavours” which were non-HFSS and didn’t compromise on taste, said Walkers.

The launches form part of the crisps giant’s ambition for 50% of its snacks sales to come from products that are non-HFSS or under 100 calories by 2025.

Walkers Max senior brand manager Jonathan Roberts said the team was “determined to ensure non-HFSS options don’t mean less flavour for Max consumers”.

The new flavours, with lower levels of fat and salt, would “greatly appeal” to a “younger generation”, Roberts added.

It comes after Walkers debuted its first non-HFSS range, 45% Less Salt, in March this year.
