Scoot launched in February 2025

Booker’s rapid delivery and online ordering platform Scoot has signed up 300 independent retailers as it celebrates its first anniversary.

The wholesale giant launched Scoot in February 2025 for its symbol retailers, giving them the opportunity to deliver groceries in their local communities within 30 minutes.

It has since “expanded rapidly”, onboarding retailers across its four symbol groups: Premier, Londis, Budgens, and Family Shopper.

Booker said reaching 300 stores marked a “significant milestone” in Scoot’s mission to support retailers to grow sales, reach new shoppers and compete in an increasingly digital convenience market.

Scoot connects shoppers with their local participating independent retailer, enabling them to order groceries and household essentials via the Scoot app.

The platform manages ordering, payment and picking processes, while retailers remain fully in control of their product range and pricing. They can also decide whether delivery is fulfilled in-house or through third-party courier partners such as Just Eat.

“Reaching 300 store launches in Scoot’s first year is an incredible achievement and a real testament to the ambition of our retailers and the strength of the platform,” said Booker head of home delivery Damian Sanderson.

“Scoot was built to help independent stores thrive by connecting them with their local communities in a convenient, cost-effective way. We’re incredibly proud of the progress made in the past 12 months and excited to continue supporting even more retailers as the platform grows.”

Premier retailer Billy Gatt said: “Partnering with Scoot has been a game-changer for Premier Whitehills. The app has allowed us to reach more customers than ever before, helping us grow our business while delivering a reliable and convenient service. Scoot has strengthened customer loyalty and streamlined our operations – we’re proud to work with a team that shares our commitment to quality and service.”
