Natasha's Law - Castell Howell PR

Castell Howell Foods has launched a three-year partnership with UK food allergy charity the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation.

The foodservice wholesaler said the collaboration looks to help the charity fulfil its ambition to “make allergy history”, improving the lives of the millions of people in the UK with food allergies through campaigning, education and research.

The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation was founded in 2019 by Tanya and Nadim Ednan-Laperouse after their 15-year-old daughter Natasha died from a severe allergic reaction to sesame seeds that were baked into the dough of a baguette, but not included in the ingredient list on the label.

The foundation is the only allergy charity dedicated to medical research. It aims to understand what is causing the rise in allergic disease and develop ways to prevent, treat and eradicate it.

“As a family business that supplies the education and health sectors as well as the hospitality industry, food safety – particularly allergen awareness – is essential to our operation and supply chain,” said Castell Howell MD Matt Lewis.

“Although awareness of food intolerances and allergies is increasing, sadly so is the number of people with food allergies. It’s important the food industry continues to put every effort into making a difference. Partnering with the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation is key for Castell Howell.”

Tanya Ednan-Laperouse added: “We are thrilled that Castell Howell is supporting Natasha’s foundation. With their support, we are a voice for change. We can drive forward the actions needed to transform the lives of people living with food allergies, carry out important medical research and achieve our mission to #MakeAllergyHistory.”
