Pukka Herbs has entered powdered matcha for the first time, unveiling a trio of organic, ceremonial-grade teas with no added sugar
Tins in Matcha Tulsi Lemon and Matcha Vanilla Chai are available now via Amazon, Holland & Barrett, Ocado, with Ceremonial Grade Matcha landing from October (rsp: £14.99/30g).
They join Pukka Herbs’ existing matcha range which includes Supreme Matcha Green and Mint Matcha Green bagged teas.
The trio were “designed to offer a premium, accessible matcha experience for wellness-motivated shoppers and capitalise on one of the fastest-growing segments within green tea”, Pukka Herbs said.
Matcha Tulsi Lemon combines ceremonial-grade matcha with tulsi, lemon essential oil, spearmint leaf powder, rosemary leaf powder and lemon myrtle leaf powder, resulting in “a bright, refreshing and naturally flavourful cup”.
Matcha Vanilla Chai, meanwhile, blends ceremonial-grade matcha with “warming chai spices and vanilla notes” to create a naturally sweetened tea.
Rounding out the range, Ceremonial Grade Matcha promises the “traditional pure matcha drinking experience”.
“Matcha is one of the most exciting growth stories in tea, but until now the category has often felt exclusive or intimidating to new consumers,” said Elle Barker, CMO at Pukka Herbs supplier Lipton Teas & Infusions. “With Pukka Matcha, we’re combining organic, ceremonial-grade matcha with 25 years of herbal expertise to create a line-up that’s both delicious and accessible.
“We believe there’s a real opportunity to bring more people into the category by delivering the quality consumers expect from organic and ethically sourced ingredients, alongside flavours they’ll genuinely love drinking every day.”
The launch will be supported by a multichannel campaign comprising in-store activation, sampling events, social media activity, and influencer partnerships to drive trial and awareness.
