Ferrero has kept a focus on new product development for its established brands, such as Nutella

Italian treats giant Ferrero Group has kept up expansion, growing sales 4.6% to €19.3bn (£16.8bn) in the year to 31 August 2025.

The global supplier and owner of Nutella, Kinder, Thorntons and Tic Tac said its growth demonstrated the “success of the long-term strategic vision” of the company, which after 80 years is still owned and run by the Ferrero family.

“As we mark our 80th anniversary, Ferrero continues to bring joy to people around the world with our much-loved products and brands thanks to the commitment of all our colleagues. Our growth strategy of portfolio innovation and expansion into new categories and markets continues to deliver,” said CFO Daniel Martinez Carretero.

Investing nearly €1.1bn into its brands in the 2024/25 financial year, Ferrero then kicked off its current financial year with the acquisition of Kellogg’s spin-out WK Kellogg Co and its 3,000 staff.

The deal gives Ferrero ownership and rights to the manufacturing, marketing and distribution of Kellogg’s brands of cereals across the US, Canada and the Caribbean, including Frosted Flakes, Froot Loops, Special K and Rice Krispies. Although, figures from WK Kellogg are not included in Ferrero’s latest results as the deal only completed in September 2025.

“The increased capital investment made in 2024/2025 and our recent acquisitions reflect our belief in the future and ability to invest for the long term. We’re further building capacity to innovate and serve local markets,” added Martinez Carretero.

Ferrero owns 36 manufacturing plants worldwide, and is currently expanding its Ontario facility to bring production of Nutella biscuits outside of Europe for the first time. Last financial year it also opened a new Kinder Bueno facility in Illinois and expanded its largest Nutella production site in northern France.

Ferrero highlighted key new product developments in the past year, including the launch of Nutella Plant-Based, the expansion of Nutella into the frozen bakery category, and the extension of North American confectionery brands Butterfinger, Baby Ruth and 100 Grand into ice cream bars.

Ferrero employs over 50,000 staff worldwide, with operations in more than 170 countries.
