The chocolate bar will hit shelves next month

Haribo and Ritter Sport have teamed up to launch a co-branded chocolate bar.

Billed as offering a “new taste and texture experience”, the limited-edition NPD combines Ritter Sport’s milk chocolate with Haribo Balla Bites.

It will roll out across grocery, wholesale and convenience from next month (rsp: £2/100g).

The launch will be supported by Ritter Sport UK’s biggest-ever retail push, which aims to introduce more than one million new shoppers to the brand. The activity will span more than 4,500 branded shipper displays and 21,000 distribution points across grocery, wholesale and convenience.

It will be also be backed by Haribo’s ‘Happiness Squared’ campaign, which will roll out across retail touchpoints to boost visibility and encourage trial.

The co-branded innovation brought UK shoppers “a new way to experience those moments of childlike happiness by combining the fruity chew of Harbio Balla Bites with Ritter Sport’s signature chocolate”, said Phil Murphy, chief marketing officer of Haribo UK&I.

Benedict Daniels, managing director of Ritter Sport UK&I, added: “This is much more than a product launch. It is a major investment in growing the Ritter Sport brand. We’re putting millions of limited-edition bars into the market, expanding distribution and giving retailers a launch that’s designed to excite shoppers and bring new energy to the category.

“Consumers are buying chocolate differently today. They’re looking for quality, they’re looking for something that feels worth discovering and, above all, they’re looking for products that make them smile. We think this collaboration does exactly that.”
