Aged spirits including Irish whiskey Jameson will now be housed in Pernod Ricard’s ‘Gold’ brand unit

Pernod Ricard has announced the leaders of its two new major brand units.

Irish Distillers CEO Nodjame Cecile Fouad has been promoted to head up its ‘Gold’ brand unit. The division will consist of Irish Distillers alongside Pernod’s scotch division Chivas Brothers and its Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët and North American Distillers units.

Meanwhile, Stéphanie Durroux, CEO of The Absolut Company, is to take charge of Pernod Ricard’s ‘Crystal’ brand unit.

She will be responsible for all of the company’s unaged spirits, including its vodka, tequila & mezcal, rum, liqueurs, gin and aperitif brands, alongside its RTD business.

Both Durroux and Fouad will report into former Chivas Brothers CEO Jean-Etienne Gourgues, The Grocer understands.

Gourgues was promoted to the newly created role of executive vice-president for global brands last July.

It comes as Pernod Ricard’s new internal structure begins to take shape. The company confirmed plans to streamline the business and reduce costs by splitting its brands into two main divisions last May.

The Paris-headquartered group also announced the sale of its international wine business in May.

The restructure and wine sale were widely expected to lead to redundancies at the business. However, the exact number of employees affected so far remains unclear.

Pernod Ricard is due to report half-year trading figures on 19 February.

Sales fell 7.6% year on year in its first quarter.
