Sqealing Pig Squealini and 19 Crimes Calimocho have landed in Morrisons stores

Treasury Wine Estates has added a ready-to-pour spritz range from Squealing Pig and a lighter wine-based drink from 19 Crimes.

Sqealing Pig Squealini and 19 Crimes Calimocho have landed in Morrisons stores, both carrying an abv of 9% (rsps: £9/75cl).

Made from Australian wine and “natural flavours”, and available in Zesty Lemon, Ripe Raspberry and Fuzzy Peach, Squealini had been developed to tap into “the UK’s growing appetite for spritz-style serves”, TWE said.

Zesty Lemon offered “a tangy punch, perfectly balanced with a touch of lemon pith bitterness for a clean finish”, Squealing Pig said. Ripe Raspberry, meanwhile, was “a refreshingly tangy spritz, with aromas of fresh raspberries”.

Rounding out the range, Fuzzy Peach was “a sweet, summery Bellini-style spritzer”.

“Many consumers are increasingly enjoying experimenting with different mixed drinks and RTDs, as the growth and dominance of spritz serves in recent years demonstrates,” said Angela Harkin, international marketing manager for Squealing Pig. “With its playful persona, Squealing Pig fits so well into this world.”

Meanwhile, 19 Crimes Calimocho combines wine and soda for “a bold, new take on the classic Spanish cocktail”.

Available in Cola and Lemon variants, it tapped into “a broader shift among wine drinkers in the UK towards more approachable, easy-drinking wines,” according to TWE.

Calimocho Cola paired shiraz wine and cola soda flavour to deliver “juicy berry fruit, a spark of ginger heat and kick of pepper,” it said.

Calimocho Lemon, meanwhile, combined white wine and lemon soda flavour for “bright lemon aromas and a tang of citrus zest”.

“19 Crimes Calimocho brings our signature rebellious edge and delicious flavour blends to this classic Spanish cocktail, giving it a whole new lease of life,” said Chantal McDowell, international marketing manager for 19 Crimes. “We’re confident Calimocho will be at heart of the social sharing moments on the long hot summer nights in the days and weeks ahead.”
