United Biscuits, which is dividing the roles of chairman and chief executive, has appointed David Fish as non-executive chairman.

Fish, formerly an executive with Mars, where he previously held general management positions, including president of snack foods Europe.

He is currently a non-executive director at Tate & Lyle and Christian Salvesen, where he is also chairman.
