Waitrose rolls out hybrid delivery truck

Waitrose is rolling out its most eco-friendly delivery vehicle yet.

The new 12-tonne Mercedes-Benz features an armoury of equipment designed to minimise its impact, including a hybrid diesel-electric engine.

“Hybrid vehicles have a valuable role in reducing carbon emissions and improving air quality in urban environments. Using this vehicle will help us assess the contribution hybrid technology can make to our carbon reduction plans,” said John Lewis Partnership fleet general manager Justin Laney.
