The head of the retail division at Lloyds Banking Group, Helen Weir, has been appointed group finance director of Waitrose owner the John Lewis Partnership.

Weir will join on 1 April and after a two-month induction period will take over as FD from Marisa Cassoni, who announced her plans to retire last September after six years at the company.

“Helen brings a wealth of both finance and retail experience and expertise and will be a great successor to Marisa, who has made an enormous contribution to the Partnership over the past six years,” said Charlie Mayfield, chairman of the John Lewis Partnership.

Before joining Lloyds Banking Group, Weir was finance director at B&Q. She is currently a non-executive director of SAB Miller.

“I am absolutely delighted to be joining the Partnership – it is a superb business with great brands and fantastic people,” said Weir.
