Findus is making a return to the sweet frozen category with the launch of Flips filled pancakes.
The line is being launched in six flavours - Choc ‘n’ Roll, Super Strawberry, Really Raspberry, Cheese & Ham, Mexican Cheese and Chilli Beef (rsp: £1.49 for a six-pack).
The pancakes are third time lucky for Findus, which launched a sweet pancake range called Sweet Pancakes in the early 90s and again in 2000. Both lasted around nine months
but were later withdrawn. It hopes the new brand, offering both sweet and savoury options, will have a broader appeal.
The company is also growing its existing frozen offerings as part of its NPD. Findus’s 30-year-old Crispy Pancakes brand, a firm favourite among students, is getting two new variants - Cornish Style with minced beef and vegetables and Cheese & Ham in a four-pack (rsp: £1.19) and six-pack (rsp: £1.79).
Its French Bread Pizza range will include new Sticky BBQ and Chilli Cheese variants (rsp: £1.99). The products, which are launched in September, are supported by a £2m campaign.
