Caffè Nero delivered record UK and group sales in the first half of the financial year driven by demand for matcha and iced drinks.
From June to November 2025, UK sales rose 7% to £185.4m, with 5% like-for-like sales growth.
Caffè Nero experienced “significant success” from its iced drinks menu, with matcha “notably performing very strongly”, driving an increase in iced drinks sales of 50%, with matcha responsible for driving 85% of it.
The brand’s new Pistachio Croissant was also a “great success”, with the business selling 500,000 units in the past three months.
At group level, the business also delivered record sales of £338m driven by 5% like-for-like sales and the opening of 26 new stores.
The Nero Group currently operates 1,151 stores across 11 countries, serving over 150 million customers a year. In the UK, there are 632 Caffè Nero coffee houses and 10 new stores opened in the UK in the first half.
“Our first half was very strong,” said Caffè Nero founder and group CEO Gerry Ford. “We had record sales at the group level and record sales at Caffè Nero UK. This marks two years of continuous sales records.
“At a time when many coffee businesses are struggling, our success is a reflection of the hard work and outstanding service from our store teams and the significant momentum we have built up through menu innovation. It’s been particularly encouraging that we are not only growing sales, but we are also growing our customer base.”
