King Brothers supplies roadside truck stops, cafés, schools, care homes, hospitals, bistros, pubs, hotels and fine dining establishments

King Brothers Foodservice is set to join the Country Range Group as it newest member from 1 January 2026.

An independent, family-run business, King Brothers Foodservice supplies roadside truck stops, cafés, schools, care homes, hospitals, bistros, pubs, five-star hotels and fine dining establishments.

Founded by Denis King, its roots date back to 1908. By the outbreak of the Second World War, King was supplying leading London restaurants and hotels with poultry and pork. In the 1950s, the company was wholesaling and became one of the first companies to sell McCain chips.

From January, the Country Range Group will be made up of 17 member businesses and 19 wholesalers. It said that King Brothers Foodservice would benefit from its “immense collective buying power and will have immediate access to the group’s unrivalled three-tiered, own-brand portfolio and powerful marketing tools”.

The move will further expand the foodservice buying group’s reach and distribution across hospitality businesses and public sector caterers in Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Northants, Leicestershire, Bedfordshire, Nottinghamshire and Hertfordshire.

From its HQ and depot in Peterborough, King Brothers Foodservice has 14 vehicles delivering six days a week and a growing portfolio of over 2,000 product lines.

“After decades of admiring the reputation, quality and competitiveness of the Country Range brand, we’re very excited to be part of the group,” said King Brothers Foodservice joint MD Martin King. ”The move will enable us to improve across all facets of the business and will play a key role in spearheading our ambitious plans for growth and expansion in the coming years”.

Country Range Group CEO Martin Ward added: “It’s been another hugely positive year with our £1bn turnover target smashed with two years to spare, our collective buying power topping the £360m mark and fantastic progress being made in the onboarding of new members, improving discipline and enhancing cohesiveness across our group.

“King Brothers have built an impressive reputation over the last century and more so we’re delighted to welcome them to the group.”

It comes as Country Range Group has promoted current head of trading Dean Pendlebury to the newly created role of buying director as of 1 January 2026.

Pendlebury will be responsible for executing and implementing the group’s buying plan in line with its updated five-year strategy and increasing the sales value of the three-tiered own brand portfolio to £250m by 2030.
