Ocado Retail’s CEO and Holland & Barrett’s CFO are among those recognised on the King’s birthday honours list.

Hannah Gibson – who has led the Ocado and M&S joint venture online supermarket division since 2022 – has been awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her services to retail. Pets at Home CEO Lyssa McGowan was similarly given an OBE for her service to the sector.

H&B group finance and transformation director Jonny Jacobs has received a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his services to mental health. The retailer said Jacobs had been “a true champion for mental wellness in the workplace”.

Jacobs said receiving the honour had been a “surreal” experience.

“Growing up in a challenging working class family in Glasgow, my path could have been very different; each day I count myself truly lucky. But this recognition is not about me, it represents the collective efforts of so many of those who have inspired me, supported me, offered me tough advice, and opened doors,” he said.

Gregg’s CEO Roisin Currie, has been appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for her contributions to the hospitality industry. Currie sadi she was ”delighted and honoured”.

“This award is testament to all of my incredible colleagues across Greggs who work together in our shops, supply sites and Greggs House to serve our customers so brilliantly, day in and day out, and truly champion the hospitality sector,” currie added.

Claire Hopkins, MD of Surplus to Supper – which collects surplus food that would otherwise end up in landfill from businesses and redistributes it to food banks and those in need – also received an MBE for her work in food waste prevention and food provision.

The chair of Food & Drink Wales Industry Board Andrew Richardson was awarded an OBE for his services to the food and drink sector.

A total of 1,200 people have received recognition by the main honours list issued by the Cabinet Office.
