Kit Kat last month launched chocolate racing cars

Kit Kat has added a limited-edition Chunky Caramel bar in partnership with Formula 1.

Unlike the previous iteration of Kit Kat Chunky Caramel, which featured a layer of caramel within the milk chocolate coating, this limited-edition bar features a marbled caramel-flavoured chocolate coating, inspired by “the speed of F1 cars”.

Available in singles and multipacks, the new F1-inspired Kit Kat Chunky was “expertly designed to deliver a full sensory experience that captures the excitement of the sport”, said Louise Barrett, head of Nestlé’s R&D centre for confectionery in York.

“Our R&D teams have created a striking visual identity using advanced technology that allows for a dynamic mix of colours,” Barrett added.

Kit Kat Chunky Caramel joins the limited-edition miniature chocolate racing cars launched by Kit Kat in singles (29g) and multipacks (5x11g) last month.

Featuring a smooth milk chocolate shell with creamy filling and embedded crispy cereal pieces, the product showcased owner Nestlé’s “world-class R&D expertise and precision manufacturing”, it said.

Kit Kat is running an on-pack promotion, live until April, offering shoppers the chance to win exclusive F1 prizes, including Grand Prix tickets plus travel and accommodation.

Earlier this month, Nestlé also unveiled a swathe of Easter lines for Kit Kat, including Hazelnut and Salted Caramel Incredible Eggs with marbled chocolate shells, Chunky Funky Incredible Egg and Crispy Egg with two Kit Kat Bunnies (from £1.50/130g).
