The truffles feature a milk chocolate shell with shortbread pieces

Lindt has launched limited-edition Shortbread Lindor truffles into Tesco ahead of Christmas.

Developed specifically for the UK market, the truffles (rsp: £7.50/200g) feature a milk chocolate shell with shortbread pieces and a “smooth, melting” milk chocolate filling, “infused with shortbread aroma”.

Shoppers took to social media to share their verdict on the treats after they rolled into the pick & mix selection in select Lindt stores last month.

“I was able to try this yesterday in my local Lindt outlet shop and OMG it was utterly delicious,” posted one shopper on Facebook.

They are now available in all of Lindt’s UK stores and have secured an exclusive grocery listing in Tesco (Clubcard Price: £6). The truffles will be available until the end of 2025 only.

“We understand UK consumers have a unique love for biscuits and shortbread particularly has deep roots in British culture, so it felt like the perfect crumbly treat to blend with our beloved truffles,” said Lindt & Sprüngli master chocolatier Stefan Bruderer.

“We love creating new and unique flavours with our iconic Swiss chocolate,” Bruderer added.

Lindt added four Lindor truffle variants last August: Dark 70% Mint, Pistachio, Tiramisu and limited-edition Irish Cream.

It then jumped on the viral ‘Dubai chocolate’ trend, launching its own pistachio and kadayif pastry-stuffed tablet into selected Lindt stores in December.

The popular treat was restocked in all Lindt UK shops in March, and simultaneously secured listings in Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Ocado.
