M&S chief technology officer Josie Smith is leaving the business 18 months after joining and less than a year after it was hit by a major cyberattack.
Her departure was revealed in an internal memo saying she had “decided to leave M&S”, according to Sky News.
She will be replaced by Darren Gibson, currently M&S fashion, home and beauty technology transformation director.
It comes four months after Rachel Higham stepped down as M&S chief digital and technology officer, just over a year she joined the retailer.
M&S is still counting the cost of the cyberattack that began last April and forced it to halt online clothing and home sales for a number of months. Fashion, home & beauty sales were down 2.5% in the quarter to 27 December after a bigger than anticipated sale to clear out stock, the retailer reported last month.
M&S was approached for comment.
