Ocado Retail has launched a “curated range of GLP-1 friendly products”, which includes a 100g extra small steak.
The new ‘Everything Weight Management Aisle’ features both branded and M&S own-label products, and comes in response to Ocado’s own research finding one in five (22%) shoppers have considered using weight-loss injections – rising to more than a third (37%) of 25 to 34-year-olds.
“As weight-loss medications become more widely used, it’s crucial that diet and nutrition remain part of the conversation,” said Charlie Parker, senior nutritionist at Ocado Retail. “Preserving lean muscle mass plays an important role in long-term health, metabolism and overall wellbeing.”

Among the products appearing in the new aisle is: Turf & Clover Small Extra Lean Steak 100g, AG1 Supplement, M&S High Protein Cottage Cheese, Biotiful Kefir Drink Original, M&S Only 3 Ingredients 2 Beef Burgers, Vitabiotics Ultra Vitamin D Tablets 1000 IU, M&S Nutrient Dense H50 Shot, Huel Ready to Drink Black Edition Chocolate 500ml and Press Turkey Lentil Bolognese.
“We’re seeing customers actively seek out high-protein, high-fibre foods and balanced meal options to support healthier weight-loss journeys and with reduced appetites,” Parker added. “With our unrivalled range, Ocado’s new aisle is here to make it easier for customers to make informed choices that support their goals beyond the number on the scales.”
The online retailer’s research also showed that large swathes of the public were unaware of how GLP-1 drugs, more commonly known by brand names such as Mounjaro or WeGovy, help users to lose weight.
Just 40% of the 2,000 consumers surveyed said they understood how the medication worked, while only four in 10 (42%) were aware that the associated weight loss can also include a reduction in lean muscle mass, as well as fat.
While seven in 10 (69%) recognised the importance of a balanced diet during GLP-1 treatment, fewer than half of respondents identified protein (46%) or fibre (48%) as essential, despite their critical role in preserving lean muscle mass and supporting long-term metabolic and digestive health.
Ocado said the results showed “a clear need for better resources to help people navigate the challenges of meeting their nutritional needs while experiencing a reduced appetite”.
The online grocer is the latest in a slew of supermarkets introducing GLP-1 focused ranges this year.
Asda, Morrisons, M&S and Co-op have all unveiled portion-controlled ready meals targeted at users of GLP-1 weight-loss jabs in recent weeks.
An estimated 1.6 million adults in the UK used drugs such as Wegovy and Mounjaro to help lose weight between early 2024 and early 2025, according to a new study by UCL researchers. An additional 3.3 million people said they would be interested in using weight-loss drugs over the next year.
