PepsiCo has given its category-leading rice cake brand Snack a Jacks a revamp.
It has expanded its Minis lineup with Lightly Salted Caramel, (rsp: £2/five) rolled out new-look polka dot packaging, and added an 80g ‘grazing’ format.
Developed on the basis that Caramel was Snack a Jacks’ bestselling Jumbo flavour, Lightly Salted Caramel Minis weighed in at 88 calories per pack and would appeal to “shoppers seeking a sweet, better-for-you snack”, said PepsiCo.
The flavour will also be available in the new 80g grazing format, designed specifically for afternoon snacking, alongside Zingy Salt & Vinegar.
The new additions coincide with a “striking” packaging redesign for Snack a Jacks, aimed to reinforce the brand’s “playful, modern” identity and boost shelf standout.
“It’s no secret that consumers are on the hunt for products that balance their health needs with indulgence” said Cynthia Finke, marketing director of permissible brands at PepsiCo.
“We’re evolving our range to increase our relevance with modern-day shoppers,” she added.
It comes as PepsiCo appears to be eyeing a relaunch for better-for-you crisps brand Walkers Baked.
As reported by The Grocer this week, the snacks giant has registered a new-look logo, featuring the text ‘Walkers Oven Baked’ with the Intellectual Property Office, under classes 29 and 30, covering potato chips and tortilla chips.
