Subway has introduced digital and physical gift cards in the UK in a bid to improve the “guest experience”.
Available ahead of the festive gifting season, physical gift cards will be stocked at participating restaurants and digital cards can be purchased via the Subway website.
“We’re always exploring new ways to enhance the guest experience – whether through gift cards, self-serve kiosks or in-app offers for our Subway Rewards members – and to support franchisee profitability,” said Subway director of EMEA digital experience Nicola Hayden.
“With physical and digital gift cards, guests get more convenience and flexibility, making it easier than ever to enjoy their favourite Subway meal.”
The launch builds on the sandwich chain’s broader digital expansion across EMEA, with over 500 restaurants now featuring self-serve kiosks, digital menu boards, mobile ordering and kitchen display systems.
It follows the nationwide rollout of Subway’s ‘Spudway’ jacket potato range last month.
The quick-service restaurant brand first launched the trial in February 2025, offering hot jacket potatoes alongside its array of sandwiches and wraps in 170 stores.
The jacket potatoes are now permanently on the menu in all UK restaurants, with toppings including Cheese & Beans, Tuna Mayo, Meatball Marinara and Chicken Tikka.
