Poundland has shifted £1.5m worth of WeightWatchers-branded crisps in less than two months.

The round-pound discounter relaunched an exclusive range of the brand earlier this year and ran a golden ticket promotion on multipacks of the crisps.

"The WeightWatchers brand has been doing very well in stores," said Poundland chief executive Jim McCarthy. "There is so much demand for the brand that we will continue to look at expanding the range to meet our customers' needs."

The full range of WeightWatchers products in Poundland includes soup, crackers, cookies, pasta sauce and cake.

Poundland is also expanding in size it plans to add another 50 stores to its 340-strong portfolio over the next 12 months, creating about 2,000 new jobs.
