The NPD has launched in two cotton bikini-style designs (rsp: from £15.99)

Menstrual hygiene brand Wuka has launched what it claims are the first adjustable period pants.

Called Flex, the pants are available in two adjustable sizes, covering four sizes each and eight in total: XS-L and XL-4XL.

They were suitable to wear for up to eight hours and featured “an absorbent gusset that wicks away period blood, removes the risk of leaks and eliminates odour”, replacing the need for disposable sanitary products, said Wuka.

The cotton bikini-style pants – which feature side sliders for “a perfect customisable fit” – have rolled out in two designs (rsp: from £15.99).

One design featured detachable side straps, so that the pants were “easily changeable in small public toilets and suitable for those with limited mobility”, said Wuka.

The other design has non-detachable side straps, which feature the Wuka logo.

The NPD had been designed to “allow the menstruating population to quickly change period pants without the need to undress, whatever their location or lifestyle, whilst also adapting to changing bodies, removing the need to invest in multiple sizes”, said Wuka.

It offered the perfect solution for retailers that needed to minimise stock volume and eliminate guesswork on orders, it added.
