Independent retailer Ashan Chaudry is on the hunt for more stores to roll out his award-winning food hall concept across the UK.
Chaudry operates Triple A Foodhall store in Nuneaton, which won Convenience Retailer of the Year at the Convenience Awards 2024.
The 3,300 sq ft store features a vast food to go offer, including handcrafted Neapolitan pizzas, Berlin-style doner sandwiches, fresh Greek gyros, roast dinners and baguettes.
Shoppers can also enjoy a “standout” patisserie range and an in-house gelato counter for those looking to “indulge in something sweet”.
There is also a strong fresh and grocery range supplied by Costcutter, which includes Co-op own label, to cater to the weekly shop mission. It also works with Bargain Booze for the alcohol offer and Iceland for its frozen range.
Chaudry said the store’s “unique positioning, bridging grocery and foodservice with creativity and flair” was what helped it gain “such a loyal following”.
The retailer is now preparing for the “next phase of growth” to “evolve the brand in new places”.
Chaudry told The Grocer the business planned to open a “carefully selected number of stores across the UK in formats that demonstrate the brand’s flexibility, from neighbourhood gems to flagship retail anchors”.
He said conversations were “well underway” with landlords, agents and developers, with the next store to be announced soon.
“Expansion is on the horizon, but in true Triple A fashion, it’s being approached with intention – not haste,” he said.
“The team has no plans to dilute the concept by rolling it out for the sake of scale. Instead, they are pursuing quality over quantity, seeking the right opportunities to evolve the brand in new places without compromising what makes it special.
“Future stores will retain the heart of the brand, but with elevated elements tailored to each site. We’re constantly looking at how we can improve and surprise our customers.”
