Spanish lager brand Cruzcampo is to get a fruit beer line extension to capture growing demand for flavoured beer.
Cruzcampo Sevilla Orange is to roll out across grocery and convenience from next month in a 4x440ml can format (rsp: £5.80).
The 3.3% abv brew was a “crisp and refreshing” lager with “with zesty citrus notes,” said Cruzcampo brand owner Heineken UK.
It was inspired by Cruzcampo’s Sevilla heritage and would help retailers meet demand for lower-strength flavoured beers, the supplier added.
Heineken UK research showed two-thirds of shoppers were open to trying flavoured beer but were often “worried it will be overly sweet”.
Cruzcampo Sevilla Orange had therefore been developed to deliver “a perfectly balanced solution” that was “light, crisp and beautifully sessionable”.
“Shoppers are increasingly looking for premium lagers that deliver great quality while still offering value for money,” said Cruzcampo senior brand manager Alice Batsford. “With the introduction of Cruzcampo Sevilla Orange we’re able to bring a vibrant new flavour to our range – a refreshing lager that suits evolving consumer trends without compromising on taste and quality.”
The new brew will feature as part of a summer push for Cruzcampo’s ‘Choose to Cruz’ masterbrand campaign, which debuted in the UK in 2024.
Its launch also be supported by a nationwide sampling campaign targeting “high‑footfall locations across the UK”.
Cruzcampo was first launched in the UK by Heineken in 2023 and has gone on to amass annual off-trade sales of more than £130m.
Last year, it added £64.6m on volumes up 90.2% [NIQ 52 w/e 6 September 2025].
