DF Minestrone Soup LORES

The affected product is Minestrone Soup with Cannellini Beans, Pasta Shells and Olive Oil

Daylesford Organic has recalled multiple batches of its Minestrone Soup after wheat was not correctly labelled as an allergen, posing a risk to those with gluten allergies or coeliac disease.

Although wheat appeared in the ingredients list, it was not emphasised in bold as required under allergen labelling rules, according to a bulletin issued by the Food Standards Agency.

The affected product carries use by dates of 26 and 27 April, and 2, 3, 8, 10, 11, 15, 17, 22 and 24 May 2026. It is stocked in Daylesford Organic farm shops and by select third-party stockists including M&S and Ocado.

The FSA said the product “contains wheat (gluten), making it a health risk to those with an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten, or those with coeliac disease”.

“We are recalling a limited number of batches of our Organic Minestrone Soup following a packaging printing error in which the allergen wheat was listed in the ingredients but not highlighted in bold. No other products are affected,” a Daylesford spokesperson told The Grocer.

Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores selling the affected product, explaining to shoppers why the product is being recalled and what to do if they have bought it.

Consumers that had bought the product and have an allergy or intolerance to wheat or gluten, or have coeliac disease, should not eat it and instead return it to the point of purchase for a full refund, the FSA advised.

The FSA alert follows a similar issue raised last week involving another allergen labelling error. Babyfood brand Hipp Organic failed to highlight the allergen celeriac in bold on the ingredients list of its 190g Vegetable Lasagne jar.
