Leon is bringing back its Fish Finger Wrap and transforming its Regent Street store into a British “chippy”.
It is the first product to make a comeback as part of Leon’s new Icon Dishes series – a programme dedicated to bringing back classics with “more flavour and better sourcing”.
More “much-loved favourites” are set to roll out, with a spring menu launch that will mark “a new era for the brand”, Leon said.
The ‘Leon Chippy’, open this weekend only, will serve the Fish Finger Wrap, which features a sustainably sourced pollock fish finger, rocket and tartare sauce, alongside waffle fries, crushed peas, and a beer or cup of tea.
The first 100 Fish Finger Wraps will be free each day, and every guest will also receive a pin badge and scratchcard, with prizes ranging from free dishes to a year’s worth of Leon.
It follows the return of co-founder and ex-CEO John Vincent to the brand in October, who purchased Leon back from Asda as he vowed to reinvigorate the chain and return it to its core values.
Speaking on the return of the Fish Finger Wrap, Vincent said: “This is the one dish I had in mind when we created Leon in 2004 and the first dish I wanted to bring back and our guests wanted us to bring back. I will be first in line.”
The ‘Leon Chippy’ will be open from 12 noon to 8pm on 14 and 15 March at Leon Regent Street, London.
