Lindt’s Piccadilly megastore adds to its network of boutiques and outlet chocolate shops in the UK

Swiss chocolatier Lindt & Sprüngli is set to open a “first of its kind” concept store in the UK.

The new flagship store will open on 21 March in Piccadilly Lights in London, in what the premium brand is hailing as a “major milestone” in its UK store rollout plans.

Describing the new store as a “feast and vision for the senses”, Lindt will focus heavily on retail experience and hospitality. Piccadilly will be the first UK store to host Lindt’s “master chocolatiers”, with three based at the store to advise customers and make fresh chocolate live. The site will also host a “barista-style” hot chocolate bar which will serve hot drinks to go.

The store will also host a personalised gifting service, exclusive “London-themed products” and the UK’s “largest” truffle pick & mix counter.

Lindt has an established grocery offer – including its iconic golden rabbits, and Lindor truffle selections – across the major mults.

However it also offers a range of exclusive products that are only available through its network of physical stores. It includes 18 outlet stores across the UK and Scotland, as well as six Lindt boutiques in major shopping centres including Bicester Village, Leeds Trinity Centre, Meadowhall in Sheffield and Bluewater in Kent.

The Grocer’s sister title Retail Week first reported that Lindt was set to expand its UK presence in October, however Lindt had not confirmed the opening date until this week. The new flagship coincides with the company’s 180th anniversary.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing the exquisite taste of Lindt chocolate to the heart of London,” said Lindt’s UK and Ireland CEO Joel Burrows.

“With 2025 marking Lindt & Sprüngli’s 180th anniversary, what better way to celebrate this journey and enduring passion for captivating chocolate lovers worldwide with the opening of this one-of-a-kind store – something truly unique to the UK.”
