Morrisons has expanded its premium The Best range for summer with new picnic and ‘picky bits’ lines for 2026, spanning hot tapas, Mediterranean-inspired sides and classic British picnic staples.
New additions include mini paella, nacho cheese croquettes and hot honey halloumi rolls as Morrisons looks to tap into demand for tapas-style sharing dishes and al fresco hosting.
“We’re helping our customers make the most of the warmer weather by getting together with family and friends over a delicious spread of picky bits that are bound to impress,” says Morrisons own brand manager Megan Moore. “Alongside returning picnic favourites, we’ve introduced new and innovative products inspired by Mediterranean flavours including moreish hot tapas.”
The Best picnic range includes dips, olives, salads and charcuterie, with products included in Morrisons’ summer 3 for 2 offer from April to September.
Dips
High-end, textured dips have become a central component of picky plates. Retailers like M&S and Waitrose reported volume growth of 15% to 21% in 2026 for premium dips, according to this year’s Focus On: Deli. Popular varieties include Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavours like Baba Ganoush and Whipped Parmesan, as well as “topped” dips used as sandwich fillers.

Pickles and fermented foods are currently seeing a massive surge, partly driven by TikTok trends and a focus on gut health. This mixing of cornichons with premium olives are a great example of brands and retailers moving beyond standard jars to offer “punchy and premium” artisanal options, such as kimchi and sweet dill pickle chips.
