Asda once again proves the best supermarket Easter advertiser, with a pair of short and sweet ads that deliver a punchy price message alongside their ‘Big Easter Energy’.
Ad one takes us to an Easter bonnet competition. Do these still happen? No matter: it’s an easy concept to grasp quickly, and some cute kids’ entries are massively upstaged by a light-up musical affair complete with pop-up bunny. Impressive – just like the retailer’s £7 per kilo lamb leg.
The second ad stars a couple on their way to visit friends or family for Easter. But “which house is it again?” Probably the one with a two-storey inflatable Easter egg with ‘Eggcited you’re here’ emblazoned across it. A 25% off booze deal is then relayed.
It’s cheap, cheerful stuff, with spot-on voiceover work from comedian Maisie Adam. Asda can surely expect a resultant Easter boost.
