Pernod Ricard has unveiled a festive limited-edition bottle for Malibu.

The bottle features a glittering version of the coconut rum’s logo, and includes a recipe for a sparkling cocktail, Malibu Fizz, which it said could “provide inspiration for hosting a truly Instagrammable Christmas party”.

The design created “standout on shelf during such a busy trading period for spirits” and could encourage “important impulse purchases”, said Pernod Ricard UK head of marketing Toni Ingram.

It has rolled into Tesco and Asda (rsp: £15/70cl).

It comes as sales of Malibu have slumped over the past year, falling 2.1% to £29.8m [Nielsen 52 w/e 29 September 2018].
