Fried chicken chain Chick ‘n’ Sours is making a comeback to London’s East End after closing its final two standalone restaurants in June.
Chick ‘n’ Sours will launch a three-month residence at The Crown & Castle in Dalston from tomorrow (10 December).
It marks a return to Kingsland Road, just a short walk from the chain’s first restaurant in Haggerston, which launched in 2015. However, the Haggerston store closed earlier this year, alongside the brand’s Seven Dials site, after the group’s casual dining model was deemed no longer financially viable.
The residency will feature dishes including fried chicken sandwiches, wings and tenders, as well as Szechuan Aubergine, Mexinese Nachos and Chicken Toast.

Chick ‘n’ Sours will be serving throughout the three-month pop-up from 5pm to 9pm on Monday to Thursday, from 12pm to 10pm every Friday and Saturday, and from 12pm to 8pm on Sundays, operating on a walk-in-only basis.
”Following on from the closure of the restaurants and the success of our residency at Big Chill, returning to Kingsland Road means a lot,” said Chick ’n’ Sours co-founder David Wolanski. “This area is a huge part of the Chick ‘n’ Sours story, and it feels right to be cooking here again.
“We can’t wait to see some familiar old faces again and introduce newbies to the Chick ‘n’ Sours experience.”
The pop-up comes as demand for fried chicken continues to outpace all other quick-service restaurant categories. KFC estimates the UK fried chicken market is worth around £3.1bn, with further growth expected.
