Superfood Salad

Leon is bringing another original menu item – the Superfood Salad – back to restaurants nationwide as part of owner John Vincent’s turnaround efforts.

First introduced in Leon restaurants when the brand was founded in 2004, the Superfood Salad will now be available in two varieties.

The Original Superfood Salad features broccoli, avocado, quinoa, feta, mint, preserved lemon and turmeric, and will be available alongside a new Chicken and Avocado Superfood Salad made up of marinated chicken, quinoa, leafy greens, avocado, parsley, mint and garlic aioli.

The relaunch comes after Vincent returned to the brand in October, vowing to reinvigorate the healthy fast food chain and return it to its core values.

Since March, Leon has been bringing back various former menu items, including the Fish Finger Wrap and Grilled Chicken Rice Boxes.

In April, the brand also added a swathe of new products to its menu, including a Mushroom Magic Rice Box, an Aioli Chicken Wrap, alongside new sides and sauces.

The menu changes form just part of Vincent’s turnaround plan. Leon appointed administrators in December, two months after Vincent purchased Leon back from Asda, to “lay out options for the future of the company”.

Under a restructuring, Leon confirmed that 23 company-owned restaurants had closed. However, the business has since emerged from administration with a total of 43 restaurants.

Last month, Vincent also unveiled plans to invest a further £2.5m in loans into the business to secure its finances.
