MicroSalt makes natural salt with approximately 50% less sodium

MicroSalt has surpassed a milestone of more than one billion servings consumed worldwide for its low-sodium salt.

It reflected a continued increase in commercial and market momentum for MicroSalt’s low-sodium products, alongside a wider push toward global salt reduction, the group said this morning in a London Stock Exchange announcement.

Passing one billion servings demonstrated the industrial-scale application of MicroSalt across multiple product categories and geographies, it added.

The company is seeing increased pick-up of its products across the industry as it continues to reformulate, counting global snack makers among its customers.

Against a backdrop of tightening regulatory expectations and increasing commercial pressure across the food industry, this landmark represented a validation of MicroSalt’s technology, the business said.

MicroSalt expected further expansion into additional product categories, deeper penetration with existing customers and broader international reach as global regulatory developments continued to evolve

“We are incredibly proud to have achieved one billion healthier servings globally,” said CEO Rick Guiney. “This milestone evidences the strength of our technology and its real-world impact.

“As regulatory tailwinds continue to build, customers are increasingly adopting and embracing our solutions. Reformulation is no longer a long-term aspiration, it has become a practical, board-level priority, and we are strongly positioned to support manufacturers in delivering lower-sodium products in a scalable, commercially viable way, making a meaningful difference worldwide.”

MicroSalt has experienced a positive start to 2026, with a trading update in January revealing sales had beaten its already upgraded forecast of $2m in FY25.

Shares in the group are up almost 40% so far this year
