AG Barr said refreshed packs would ‘drive on-shelf standout’

Rubicon has unveiled a brand revamp alongside NPD for its still and sparking ranges.

Refreshed packs have rolled out across its entire portfolio, in a move brand owner AG Barr said would “drive on-shelf standout”.

The brand has also expanded its sparking range with two new flavours. Tropical and Cherry Burst are available now in plain 500ml (rsp: £1.75) and £1.29 PMP bottles, as well as 8x330ml and 24x330ml multipacks, and two-litre bottles.

Cherry-flavoured soft drinks were growing 42% year on year and “tipped to be the soft drinks flavour of summer 2026”, said AG Barr, citing Circana data.

The launch of Tropical, meanwhile, would appeal to the 84% of fruit-flavour carbonates shoppers who look for the flavour on shelf, the supplier added, citing Vypr consumer research.

Rubicon is also adding a Tropical variant to its still range, with plain (rsp: £2.10) and £1.59 price-marked one-litre cartons launching in April.

“Rubicon is helping retailers drive sales and profits from across the soft drinks category, with continuous investment and flavour innovation,” said Lisa McKenna, brand director for Rubicon at AG Barr. “We’re confident the launch of Cherry Burst and Tropical will recruit new shoppers and grow category value.”
