Allplants has unveiled a trio of tofu and tempeh products ahead of Veganuary.
Tofu Goujons (rsp: £3.50/160g) combine “creamy” tofu with spinach and peas, coated in a crispy crumb.
Meanwhile, Veggie Tempeh (rsp: £3/180g), made with legumes, will debut in Pea & Herb and Golden Lentil variants.
All three products were easy to cook and designed to help consumers eat more plants, according to Allplants.
They have hit Tesco today (29 December), along with Allplants’ Protein Veggie Burgers (rsp: £3.50/2x90g). They will roll into Waitrose and Ocado in early January.
The plant-based category had “become synonymous with UPFs over the last few years”, said Allplants MD Kerry Atack.
“At Allplants, we’re on a mission to bring real food back into the category, with natural plant-based options which are both delicious and quick to prepare,” Atack added.
Plants to Allplants
Allplants is owned by Deliciously Ella founder Ella Mills and her husband Matthew. Formerly known as Plants, it was launched in partnership with Waitrose in 2022.
In August, it unveiled a 10-strong range of frozen meals featuring its new branding.
This came after it bought vegan ready meal brand Allplants’ trademark, customer database, website and social media accounts out of administration in February, with plans to combine the businesses to create a “natural, plant-based powerhouse”.
Plant-based meal kit brand Grubby bought Allplants’ original recipes from the frozen ready meal maker’s administrators Interpath in March and has since revived them under its own branding.
